Life-Style

"Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading causes of death globally, killing more people each year than all other causes combined. Contrary to popular opinion, available data demonstrate that nearly 80% of NCD deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries. Despite their rapid growth and inequitable distribution, much of the human and social impact caused each year by NCD-related deaths could be averted through well-understood, cost-effective and feasible interventions." From the WHO Report on NCDs, 2010.

"The increase in the number of fatalities resulting from Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) is something that can no longer be ignored. More so because these ailments, as experts point out, are highly preventable." Times of Zambia, 18. september 2013

In 2014, NCDs were responsible for 23% of all deaths in Zambia, according to a WHO Report on NCDs in Zambia

The key word in the second quote is "highly preventable". We are talking about over 20% of all deaths in Zambia, that can be prevented. In 2014, the total deaths in Zambia were 147.000. 23% of those were NCDs, that is 33.810 lifes, that could have been saved.

We are not saying, that you never will be sick again, when you change your lifestyle. But we are saying, that you minimize the risk of being killed by a NCD significantly, as a great amount of studies show. So we are sharing knowledge on healthy living and train our patients to take charge of their own health.

The principles and methods of the Clinic can be portraied as follows:

HEALTH is the aim.

The best way to health is PREVENTION. Prevention has two key elements, which are LIFESTYLE and HYGIENE.

If these measures are failing to prevent disease, we need to take use of

HEALING

To facilitate the bodies healing process, we focus mainly on NATURAL REMEDIES, such as

PHYTOTHERAPY

HYDROTHERAPY

MASSAGE

PHYSIOTHERAPY

We aim to provide training in how to use medicinal plants that grow in the Tropics, the Clinic garden shall be a show case for that. Furthermore we shall provide emergency equipment, to be able to respond adequate to acute situations such as

myocardiac arrest or sepsis/shock
